Surfshark Case Study

Surfshark hired me to build authority through link insertions on relevant sites. The placement record for this campaign sits in my private log and I will open it on request.

02  How the work was done

How I choose sites for Consumer Security and Privacy.

A VPN is a crowded, heavily marketed category, so the sites that matter are the ones readers trust for privacy advice, not coupon or review pages built around affiliate payouts.

01

Security and privacy publications

Tech blogs that already explain encryption, public Wi-Fi risk or streaming access, where a VPN mention answers the question the article is already asking.

02

Pages that inform before they sell

Guides and how-tos over best-VPN roundups, because roundups in this niche are often pay-to-rank and readers know it.

03

Brand-led anchors

In a category this commercial, anchors lean on the brand name and natural phrases rather than repeating one money keyword until the profile looks bought.

The rules behind every campaign, relevance before rating, every site checked by hand and every link logged the day it goes live, are set out on my SaaS link building services page, and the page-level checks behind each placement are on the link insertions page.

03  Depth in this category

32 sites on my list cover Consumer Security and Privacy today.

Counted live from my inventory sheet against this category. 19 of them sit at DR 70 or above. The number moves as sites are added and pruned, so it is always the current figure.

04  The placement record

The record is kept, just not published.

Every placement I made for Surfshark was logged the day it went live: the site, its domain rating, the anchor and the URL. None of it is guesswork after the fact.

Important

Ask me for this campaign's record and I will send it.

I do not publish the list of sites, because the list is the work and it took years to build. That is the only reason it is not on this page. It is not a secret, it is an email away.

  • Every site used for Surfshark, with its domain rating
  • The anchor text used on each placement
  • The live URL for every link, so you click and check them yourself
Email me for the record Usually back the same day.

05  On proof

No traffic graph, and here is why.

Rankings and traffic move for reasons that have nothing to do with links: content changes, technical work, competitors, algorithm updates, seasonality. An agency that shows you a rising line and implies its links caused all of it is telling you a story.

What I can prove is the work. Which sites, which pages, which anchors, and that the links are live. That is what this page shows, and it is the part you can verify without trusting me at all.

06  Questions

What buyers ask about this campaign.

Can I see the live links?

Yes. Email me and I will send this campaign's record: site, target page, anchor and the live URL for every placement. You can click each one and confirm the link is there and followed.

Are these links still live?

Every placement counted on this page was live at the last check. If one of mine drops inside a year I replace it, which is the warranty that applies to all my work and not something written specially for this page.

Do you have sites in my category?

Tell me what you sell and I will give you the honest count for your category before you commit to anything. My list is deepest in marketing, software development, e-commerce, AI, sales and HR technology.

Was this guest posting?

No. I place links inside articles that are already published and already ranking. That means the page has existing authority and existing traffic the day your link goes into it.
